"You taught me how to do community service."

- a Singer family colleague

Merchants is committed to a corporate culture that celebrates and encourages community involvement, investment and volunteerism. Through the Charitable Contributions Committee and member involvement, we will support local based charities to create a more productive and enriched community.    Those agencies and programs that support families/children, the elderly, veterans and community based sports programs will be given priority.  In addition, resources will also be dedicated to those causes where employees have significant passion and involvement.

Merchants Automotive Group is deeply invested in the community.  On a monthly basis the Merchant’s Charitable Contributions Committee meets to review philanthropic solicitations to support not-for-profit organizations throughout the community and surrounding areas.  Merchants Automotive Group has various ways of giving – volunteer hours, memorabilia for auction/raffles, exposure on the digital billboard on Hooksett Road and monetary donations.  If you would like to submit a request to the Contributions Committee, please email for more information.

The Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive
"America's Largest One-Day Community Blood Drive"

The Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive is an American Red Cross event.  For nearly three decades, the Singer Family Community Service Team has led thousands of dedicated blood donors, partners and supporters down a path of continued success – and it has done patients in need of blood a lot of good.  In 2011, during the 28th annual drive, we challenged New Hampshire donors to break the national record – and were successful.  The Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive officially became America’s Largest One-Day Community Blood Drive!

Child and Family Services

WZID's Christmas Is For Kids Radiothon has raised over $1 million since its inception, serving over 20,200 kids! The Singer family has supported the auction by donating a piece of the parquet floor upon which the Boston Celtics played. To bring attention to the event, the Singer brothers also donated tickets for two to the Rolling Stones at the Fleet Center, complete with limousine service and dinner.  They also donate their personal time during the radiothon by answering the phone lines at the Mall of New Hampshire.

Salvation Army Bell Ringers and Special Events

Our participation in the Salvation Army Holiday Kettle Campaign accounts for 15% of the total raised in Manchester. Our volunteer bell ringers have come in first in money raised sixteen times since 1996.

One of our favorite activities is to gather 20 or 30 kids together for a meal and a special event. It may be a professional hockey game by the Manchester Monarchs, a Southern New Hampshire University basketball game or a simple trip to the bowling lanes. A big hit in 2002 was a trip to Portsmouth to see Avner the Eccentric, whose show defies description and straight faces with equal ease.
