"You taught me how to do community service."
- a Singer family colleague
We pursue service to the community in the same spirit we pursue service to our customers: we want to be the best. And money plays a relatively small part. Most of the contributions you'll see here come from donations of time and effort.
The Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive
The Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive is an American Red Cross event. Donors must be 17 years of age and healthy, weigh at least 110 pounds, and have not donated in the last 56 days, and considered healthy.

More information about becoming a blood donor can be found online at the Redcross website.

For more information about the Manchester Chapter of the American Red Cross, call 624-4307 or log on to www.redcrossmanchester.org. First time and experienced donors are welcome.

The Gail Singer Memorial Blood Drive is a Singer Family community service project chaired by Stephen Singer, President of Merchants Automotive Group.

For Easter Seals, a Donation of Time
The Easter Seals Center is home to dozens of health and rehabilitation programs, from brain injury services to pulmonary rehabilitation to physician services. On a recent Halloween, the Manchester Center identified 50 youngsters unable to go out trick or treating, so 10 volunteers from Singer Family Enterprises dressed up in costumes and brought candy, entertainment and arts and crafts to the kids.

St. Joseph Community Services: You've Got to Love Meals when They're on Wheels!
St. Joseph Community Services provides over 1,100 hot, nutritious meals a day to the elderly and homebound disabled throughout Hillsborough County. The Singer family was among key supporters of a recent Ballroom Gala to benefit St. Joseph Community Services. This annual event at the Center of New Hampshire raised $50,000 to support meals on wheels, congregate dining, transportation, nutrition and health education, information and referral, and social support services.

The Singer Family Is Proud to Support Child and Family Services
WZID's Christmas Is For Kids auction raises up to $50,000 to support Child and Family Services programs for adoption, child and family advocacy, elder and independent living services and much, much more. The Singer family recently supported the auction by donating a piece of the parquet floor upon which the Boston Celtics played. To bring attention to the event, the Singer brothers also donated tickets for two to the Rolling Stones at the Fleet Center, complete with limousine service and dinner.

Salvation Army Special Events
One of our favorite activities is to gather 20 or 30 kids together for a meal and a special event. It may be a professional hockey game by the Manchester Monarchs, a Southern New Hampshire University basketball game or a simple trip to the bowling lanes. A big hit in 2002 was a trip to Portsmouth to see Avner the Eccentric, whose show defies description and straight faces with equal ease.
